As the world cup fever builds
One of the typical tropes will come along for African supporters
That is the search for representation

This can start from something simplistic like jerseys
Hiding behind the lie of supply and demand
Because after afcon there was a high demand for jerseys and obviously so
Yet the retailer adidas supposedly had sold out of them

So by rules of supply and demand by the view we have looks like there is supply and cash in hand

That is just the beginning next you get media and fans alike
Who when talking about the best players add in one or African stars so as to seem encompassing

Also there is the punditry
Which in England finds ways to bring England into the conversation
Also the lack of research and fans is disgraceful at times and how a players are only good if they play in Europe and if their national team exits they support their club players not the team their

And how in the analysis armchairs you side with most teams ahead of an african team and cannot help to refrain from using the words pace and power

Then there is the allocation of berths 5 for a continent of over 50 teams
And the vitriol spilled out over these two articles says it all
From hodgson saying an African side is better suited to this world cup in rio and may win
Which was greeted by quotes of pele and how his quote prophecy whatever you want to call it never came to pass
Then there was sep blatters statement of increasing African and Asian berths
But subtle or not subtle statements spilled out about strengths of confederations and how africa has not earned it or that it would dilute the tournament
Picking random African teams and saying nobody wants to that match
Also point out that african teams have not reached a semi final
Whilst discarding the dates when these final dates happened
And allocated spot Africa had
And the fact europe has 13 out of 32..
Wasn't it called the world cup not the Europe and the rest cup

As well as that the constant salivating over players they have first seen because they watch no no other
Leagues
And talking about how they should come europe and so forth

Also the constant reminder of your failures here is insert african team_________
They struggled through qualifying
And have never scored or made it out of the group stages
And are happy to just make up the numbers and possibly make it to Europe
