Nigeria v Mexico pre Analysis

Within the next few days world cup friendlies will be all around us
but the one close to home
in significance not in distance is mexico nigeria

so this is the team to play mexico minus
bright dike who is out with a serious injury
though i wish for no injury
i would of liked for keshi to call a replacement

Goalkeepers: Vincent Enyeama (Lille FC, France); Austin Ejide (Hapoel Be'er Sheva, Israel)
Defenders: Elderson Echiejile (AS Monaco, France); Efe Ambrose (Celtic, Scotland); Godfrey Oboabona (Rizespor, Turkey); Azubuike Egwuekwe (Warri Wolves); Kenneth Omeruo (Middlesbrough, England); Juwon Oshaniwa (Ashdod FC, Israel); Joseph Yobo (Norwich City, England); Kunle Odunlami (Sunshine Stars)
Midfielders: John Mikel Obi (Chelsea, England); Ramon Azeez (Almeria FC, Spain); Ogenyi Onazi (SS Lazio, Italy); Victor Moses (Liverpool, England); Shehu Abdullahi (Kano Pillars); Ejike Uzoenyi (Enugu Rangers)
Forwards: Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscow, Russia); Shola Ameobi (Newcastle United, England); Emmanuel Emenike (Fenerbahce, Turkey); Obinna Nsofor (Chievo Verona, Italy); Bright Dike (Toronto FC, USA), Imoh Ezekiel (Standard Liege, Belgium); Michael Uchebo (Cercle Brugge, Belgium)

It seems along with my last posts on the national team i was really spot on with some players and tactics and no others are seeing them

and from my previous slide
three strikers i wish to be called up did so
such as imoh ezekiel
bright dike
and michael uchebo
who i thought may get overlooked but I was pleasantly surprised

but we also have a big addition in regards to tactics and that is ramon azeez
Ramon Azeez (left)
described by one as a mikelesque player
but he could be keshi's missing jigsaw piece
the player to help unleash the beast in mikel
for it has been noted by me and others
that mikel is a different animal for the super eagles
and we have seen glimpses of the real him breaking through
but because of a missing piece he has been slightly reigned in
with the stoic defensive persona put on him by mourinho
which has help but hindered mikel
but with azeez capable of alleviating that mantle from him we could see the start of a new mikel
as has happened with yaya toure since leaving barca and with the added brilliance of fernandinho
but I see the big boss rotating our midfield three to perhaps a beautiful yet devastating effect
seeing how he played in the confederations cup is a start
providing a master class versus spain and a wonderous goal versus uruguay
with many articles lamenting this problem i advise them to re watch those games
for the doubters of mikel and his incisive passing
for i have seen articles saying we need a new okocha
though okocha is one of my favourite players
mikel should not be written off for slowly his potential is being coaxed out

onazi who has been herald
recently is also very comfortable on the ball and has provided key passes
plus has a rocket in his boots

so i look forward to the potential fluid rotations

We may see mikels best game for the super eagles come wednesday

i briefly talked on attack but what many of us is looking forward to is seeing the new boys
and how will he play uchebo
and ezekiel
because like with italy he may want to start with all the new players then slowly bleed in the established players

for example emenike came off of the bench v italy

or the big boss may change it up and start established and bleed in the new

he also started ejide in that game so he may once again start so a goalie each half

defence is very tricky
since the reinclusion of yobo
which is like a new player
i believe he will get a half maybe coming off the bench
to perhaps to test his loyalty

so so far we have

                                                  Austin Ejide

Oshaniwa(ambrose)        Omeruo      Oboabona(yobo)       Odunlami(elderson)

      Ogenyi Onazi                                             Ramon Azeez(Abdullahi)

                                               John Mikel Obi

Imoh Ezekiel(emenike/obinna)                  Ejike Uzoenyi(EmenikeMoses/Musa)

                                 Michael Uchebo(Ameobi Emenike)

and then it can fill out possibly like this with ability to transpose
possibly
depending on the game and the performance the possibility of changing the game
to having two battering rams
like he did have against italy
with dike and ameobi
and i have said before uchebo being akin to kanu
perhaps he could drop deeper and link up play

keshi may be tempted to see how it plays
with imoh and emenike on the flanks running
on or behind the focal point of uchebo or ameobi

a daunting line up with possibly fluidity
